ZANLINK has established an effective Wide Area Network (WAN) using the Motorola Canopy technology platform. The WAN covers all districts in both Zanzibar and Pemba Island mostly providing services to our clients in remote areas as well as areas not yet covered by our fiber optical ring.

A product of Motorola - world's leading Manufacturer in Communication Devices - Motorola's CANOPY is the latest Technology in Wireless Communication. It ‘s simple to install and troubleshoot features as well as the ability to provide high throughput for Broadband Connectivity purpose has made it very popular to be used among many leading ISPs worldwide. It has proven to be the very reliable, rugged and dependable product that eliminates the possibility of interference and adds security as ‘eves-dropping’ is practically impossible. The product has been tested and found working in multiple environs dominated by extreme heat and cold and high winds.

ZANLINK has deployed the above product as both for backhauling purpose between repeaters as well the main devices on its base stations on all the repeaters. All base stations are provided with high redundancy, power backups, remote controlling and monitoring systems and easy access.

ZANLINK has deployed about 10 such repeaters or base stations to cover all districts in both the Zanzibar as well as Pemba Islands. This WAN gives ZANLINK the ability to provide services to about 400 customers scattered in various places.
