Zanlink is founded and starts providing mainly dial up Internet service


Zanlink starts building an Island wide Wireless Microwave Network to provide wireless broadband service. It also starts providing hosting services for domains and web sites.


Zanlink becomes the first ISP in Zanzibar to establish a Metro based Fiber Optical backbone to provide a vast coverage, cheaper and faster connectivity to clients based in the Stone town and the outskirts.


Zanlink deploys a point to point link to its sister Island Pemba and becomes the first ISP to reach the Pemba Island with wireless Internet services. Expands the service into other regions of Pemba almost immediately.


Zanlink becomes the first ISP in Zanzibar to become an official member of the Tanzania Internet Service Providers Association (TISPA).

Zanlink launches a point to point direct link to Mainland and becomes the first ISP in Zanzibar to connect to the Tanzania Internet Exchange (TIX)


Zanlink starts offering various managed connectivity solutions such as VPN to various Government Parastatals to link their branch offices.


Zanlink is awarded applications Service License from TCRA and becomes the first ISP in Zanzibar to become a licensed operator.


Zanlink becomes the first ISP in Zanzibar to connect to the SEACOM International submarine fiber to bring the fastest broadband to Zanzibar

Zanlink becomes the first ISP to be awarded the most compliant Tax Payer in the Small and Medium Business category.


Zanlink celebrates 10 years of its operations and success with its key stakeholders.


Zanlink establishes a second and third back up links between Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam with auto change over to strengthen its network capacity and redundancy.

Zanlink strengthens it PoP in the Mainland Dar es Salaam and starts offering L2 connectivity and establishes partnership with several Global Players to provide last mile solutions to their clients based in Zanzibar.


Zanlink upgrades its bandwidth capacity to STM1 to cater for its fastest growing clientele base.

Zanlink is granted a licensed spectrum and starts building a WiMax network - the first in Zanzibar.


Zanlink rebrands and adopts a fresh look to identify with its corporate image and growth.

Zanlink Upgrades to 200MEG to further cater for the increasing bandwidth demand from its clientele base.
